Artist, writer and teacher, Barbara is inspired by the landscape. Her recent paintings explore the nuance of skies and horizons and strives to capture the pure beauty of a place while trying to reaffirm the importance of these open spaces to the world in which we live.
Barbara aspires to offer a respite from the madness of day to day in a busy world. She left New York City for the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Here, Barbara has embraced a slower pace of life and enjoys capturing nature’s magic. Her paintings offer a moment to pause and reflect.
Barbara was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and studied at The Art Students League and The New School. While at the University of New Mexico, She studied printmaking with Garo Antreasian and John Sommers After graduating with a B.F.A. in printmaking and art history she moved to Seattle to work as Technical Assistant to Master Print-maker Kent Lovelace of Stone Press Editions (a fine art original print workshop).
Barbara has taught art classes at art centers; schools and after-school programs. Her paintings and prints have been exhibited throughout the United States and in Europe and are in many private and public collections.
